austin, texas

last weekend i accompanied my husband on his theoretical psychology conference in austin. never having been there, we were both excited to explore the party city that austin is known for. we're not much of partiers, but it was still fun to explore 6th street at night and shop on soco. oh i even got to reunite with an old friend from high school. three years is to dang long! check out the adventures!

delicious specialty of hickory street, fish tacos!

oh valentine.

a little late valentine's post, but i figured it'd still be worth putting up. this valentine's my hubs and i were super busy, so we couldn't celebrate the day of love in just one day. that's why we did valentine's weekend. it has to be done when you're married to a graduate student. check out all the fun.

a gift for my mister. a book of love.

another gift. my hubs and i are big travelers, so a poster for our love of traveling had to be made. poster photo taken in yellowstone.

now for valentine treats!
ginger rose cupcakes and strawberry italian soda. nomnom.

well, hello.

It's been awhile since I've posted on this blog. My apologies! I've been so busy redesigning my website and I've kind of stuck to blogging on my tumblr. I tried to stray from blogspot, but looks like I'm coming back because not many people have tumblr. So looks like I have to juggle three different sites to keep my peeps up to date.

Not much has been going on other than I'm now a freelance illustrator! I stay cooped up (and I mean that with true enthusiasm) in my office sketching, painting, and making books. I love it! Here's some recent work...check it!

Oh and some fun news, I recently submitted some work for the Society of Illustrator student scholarship  contest. I don't know how to feel about it because I can't imagine getting any awards for my work. But joining contest is a good way to staying involved/active as an artist. Well, happy Wednesday!

Welcome, my friends, to Provo, Utah! This city has been my home now for three weeks. I live in the heart of Historic Downtown Provo just a minute’s walk to fun shops, an array of delicious restaurants, and the location of the new LDS temple. Oh and let’s not forget that I am only ten blocks from an Asian Market. Ah, bliss! So with a new city to explore and currently jobless, I can engulf myself completely in art.

I just learned how to animate my illustrations from a good artist friend of mine, Hope. So I played around with one of my pieces, and volia! Magic! Ah, so much fun!

true artist...

Plein air paint. So yesterday, in Rexburg's freezing weather (yeah, freezing in June) me and a couple of friends crosses flooded fields and jumped across rivers (that's exhaggerated) to paint. Monet once boarded a train to paint on sight. When he got to his location of choice, he found that the lighting wasn't right and took the train right back home. True artistry. Or insanity, you're choice. Check out our adventures. Oh and excuse our crazy outfits. It's not part of the art thing, we just weren't prepared for the weather.

i clearly don't belong due to my lack of preparation.

i forgot a bottle of water, so i had to use the mossy river water near by for my watercolors. yum.
